castration is an installation documenting and resulting in byproducts from the performance elements of my photographs. The installation includes a sculpture of hair between two sheets of acrylic and edited video evidence of castration, in which my entire body is shaved with hair clippers. Body hair is inherently manly. The removal of my hair over the course of my body is a liberation of my manhood, a return to adolescence or even transformation to woman. Removing my body hair also represents dissolution of the character present in many of my photographs.
